Homannsberget Camping is a family-friendly campsite located idyllically located by the Drammensfjord 1 kilometer south of Svelvik center. The campsite is part of a beautiful cultural landscape surrounded by orchards and strawberry fields. Freshly picked and sweet strawberries are an important part of this summer's good camping life in Svelvik.

Homannsberget Camping is one of the best starting points for day trips to sights and activities throughout Eastern Norway. The city of Drammen is close by, and Oslo is only an hour's drive away. The surrounding area has many good fishing and swimming places, and the forest areas offer great nature experiences all year round. It is only 500 meters walk to the nearest grocery store and 15 minutes to Svelvik center. The town of Svelvik is described as a charming southern village with wooden buildings and a guest harbor.

At Homannsberget Camping there is plenty of space for overnight guests with caravans, motor homes/camper vans or tents for shorter or longer stays. Electricity is available.

Homannsberget Camping is open from 1st of May to 1st of September.

Week 26 - 30 the reception is open from 10 am - 9 pm

Our history

The first cabins were built in 1958, and a small area was used as a tent site, after the harvesting grass for the horses. Today, the 3rd generation runs Homannsberget Camping, and the family business is still a combination of tourism, camping and farming.

Navnet Homannsberget kommer opprinnelig fra Havmannsberget. Havmann (gn. Hafmadr), mannlig havvette, tilsvarende havfrue; kan etter folketroen lokke kvinner til seg.

På fjellet bak servicebygget er det registrert et fornminne, hvor det er funnet rester etter bosetting fra bronsealderen. Det er med andre ord lange tradisjoner med både troll og folk på Homannsberget.
